Hi I'm Michelle.  Here at michelle pellot designs I've put together my two loves. Floral photography and Abstract Alcohol Ink artwork.  I've been dabbling in photography since 2012. But most recently fell in love with floral photography. Desperately trying to capture the beauty of flowers with macro photography. My favorite flowers for photography are peonies, David Austin roses, and hydrangea and calla lilies and sometimes tulips. I'm no professional photographer. I'm constantly learning.  I started using a Sony A55 DSLR. But I wanted to be able to get larger photos so I upgraded a little to a Sony A68 with a larger image sensor. Since I basically learned with a Sony getting a slightly newer camera in the same make worked for me. And my Sony A68 has produced absolutely gorgeous photos. I use my Sony when doing macro photography.  This year I was able to also add to my arsenal a Canon 5D Mark II, a full frame camera and therefore a larger image sensor and in the end the ability to take larger photographs. I also invested in a Lensbaby Velvet 56 lens.  This is an artistic lens. Creating a soft velvet blur to photos. It can be especially beautiful when photographing flowers.  I have an etsy store that I have opened and closed so many times over the years thinking that my photos aren't good enough and that's not true.  Art is subjective. Some will like my photos and artwork and some won't.  I'm here for those who do like my work.  I'm here for me, because I like my work.  I'm here because I'm trying to do something for myself.  Some of the flowers I've photographed lately are a David Austin rose called the Wedgewood Rose. This rose was planted in my mother's garden after she died.  It is now her memorial garden. My mom was a fan of my photography. She was just amazed at the photos I took. And when I discovered alcohol ink she was just as amazed when I began painting abstract art on Yupo paper or porcelain tile.  I discovered painting with alcohol ink on Instagram and immediately gave it a try. It is so addictive but also very smelly. LOL.  Painting with alcohol ink, means using inks and isopropyl alcohol. So it should be done while wearing proper ventilation gear and in a room that can be properly ventilated as well. A special paper called Yupo paper is used because the ink and alcohol just flow across creating beautiful art. Porcelain tile is also great to use.  I live and grew up in New York.  I also have a day job and I am the mother of three kids. I've always been a creative person and grew up coloring all the time and sketching.  But when I began having kids all that creativeness was set aside to raise kids. Now they're grown and fully support their mom chasing her dream and being creative and hopefully making some money at it.  Thanks for passing by my website and etsy store.  Feel free to contact me with any questions.  Instagram: @m.pellot.photography Instagram: @m.pellot.ink.works etsy: https://www.etsy.com/shop/mpellotdesigns portfolio: https://mpellotphotography.myportfolio.com email: michelle.pellot@icloud.com all content © 2021 michelle pellot designs
